It depends…do you want the look of hardwood floors without the painstaking work? If the answer is yes, you are better off installing the engineered wood flooring.
It takes less time to be installed, gives you real hardwood floors and has the benefit of a longer life than laminate flooring.
A great advantage of engineered wood flooring over laminate flooring is that scratches will not ruin the floor. When you have laminate flooring, if it gets a dig or scratch on it, the piece of flooring is ruined. But you don’t have this type of problem with engineered wood flooring because you can sand down the area and refinish it.
The only real argument in favor of laminate floor is that engineered wood flooring is more expensive that laminate hardwood flooring. This is true, but when you consider the fact laminate flooring can’t be sanded, this can actually make the flooring more expensive in the long run. By ruining just one small piece you can have your savings thrown out of the window.
